Our classroom rules are followed to keep our classroom a safe, peaceful environment where students can maximize their learning potential. Beyond the specific rules listed below, we concentrate on being good "friends" to all by using kind words, keeping our hands and feet to ourselves, and using polite manners.
1. Listen while others
are speaking.
2. Speak softly.
3. Raise your hand.
4. Take turns.
5. Put things away in the
right place.
6. Push in your chair.
7. Be a good friend.
8. Do your best!
The K-Track
The K-Track is my classroom management system. Students who follow the classroom rules are on track. If a student is still not following a rule after a few reminders, he or she will need to move his or her car off the track. After a few minutes students usually get back on track. Blue tickets are given out to the class to reward consistent positive behavior. Yellow tickets are given out for consistently breaking a classroom rule or breaking an important school rule.
By setting boundaries through classroom rules, the students are provided with clear expectations for doing their part to maintain a peaceful environment where everyone is ready to learn. By reinforcing positive behaviors and correcting negative behaviors, I encourage students to do their best.
